  • John Catalano

    Business Manager

    Read Bio

    John Catalano is the Business Manager and Financial Secretary of the IUOE Local 295. He oversees the daily management and operations of the entire Local and chairs the IUOE Local 295 Pension, Welfare, Annuity, Joint Education, and 401(k) Funds. John is also a Trustee on all of the above-mentioned Funds. In his present position, he runs the monthly Executive Board Meetings, monthly Membership Meetings, and Quarterly Benefit Funds Trustee Meetings. Prior to serving as Business Manager, he was Business Agent from 2000 to 2004.

    John has been a member of IUOE Local 295 since 1993. He also held several positions in the field, working as an Engineer and Chief Engineer of Queens Boulevard from 1993 to 2000.

    John also holds a New York City Refrigeration License, EPA Refrigeration Handlers License, Hazmat Certificate, Homeland Security Certification, New York City Fire Safety Directors License, and various other City licenses. He has taken courses in organizing and labor studies for Arbitration and Negotiations and Labor Law as well as Fiduciary and Benefit courses for the Funds. John also attended New York City Technical College

  • Angelo Cordisco

    Angelo Cordisco has been the President of IUOE Local 295 since 1993. Angelo also has served as the Fund Administrator on the Pension, Welfare, Annuity, Joint Education, and 401(k) Funds since 1992.

    Before becoming President of IUOE Local 295, Angelo began his career as a field auditor for IUOE Local 295 and the Funds. Angelo has been a member of IUOE Local 295 since 1990.

    Angelo holds an Operating and Maintenance Engineers CFR license. He also obtained an Associate’s degree at Sullivan County Community College. Throughout his career with IUOE Local 295 and the Funds, he has taken courses in organizing and labor studies for Arbitration and Negotiations and Labor Law as well as fiduciary and benefits courses for the Funds.

    Marin is the Vice President of IUOE Local 295. He also serves as a Trustee on the Pension, Welfare, Annuity, Joint Education, and 401(k) Funds.

    In 1993, Marin began working as a Qualified Helper and worked his way up throughout the years to an A-Mechanic which he currently serves with Perfect Air.

    In 2008, Marin was elected as Vice President of IUOE Local 295.

    During his tenure as a union member, Marin has obtained New York City Refrigeration License, EPA Refrigeration Handlers License, Hazmat Certificate, Homeland Security Certification, New York City Fire Safety Directors License, and various other City licenses. He has taken courses in organizing and labor studies for Arbitration and Negotiations and Labor Law as well as fiduciary and benefits courses for the Funds.

    Read Bio

    George entered IUOE Local 295 in 1994. He has served as a Conductor since 1998. In the course of his career, he has worked in every job classification from Qualified Helper to A-Mechanic for Domestic Refrigeration Corporation.

    Kelly has been a member since 2005. She was elected as the Treasurer for IUOE Local 295 in 2021. Kelly has attended the Katherine Gibbs Trade School and attends various labor and benefit fund courses.

    Marianne became a member of IUOE Local 295 in 1983. She currently serves as a Trustee on the Executive Board since 2014. Marianne previously served as Vice President from 1998 to 2001. During her tenure with IUOE Local 295, Marianne has served as the benefit fund manager for the IUOE Local 295 Pension, Welfare, Annuity, Joint Education, and 401(k) Funds. She assists the participants on a daily basis with all aspects of benefit questions/issues that they may have with regard to the Funds.

  • Stephen Mogila

    General Counsel

    Read Bio

    Stephen is General Counsel for IUOE Local 295 and the IUOE Local 295 Pension, Welfare, Annuity, Joint Education, and 401(k) Funds. He has been a member since 2021. Prior to serving as General Counsel, Stephen worked for IUOE Local 295 and the Funds as outside counsel. Stephen has over 20 years experience in representing labor unions and collectively bargained and single employer-employee benefit pension, defined contribution and welfare plans subject to ERISA. He has counseled small and large plans (including those with assets in excess of $1 billion) providing benefits to covered employees in various industries including those locals with the International Operating Engineers Union.

    Stephen attended Seton Hall University, University of Baltimore School of Law, and New York University School of Law. He graduated with honors earning a B.A., J.D., and LL.M. in Taxation from those respective Universities. While in law school, he served as Staff Editor of the Intellectual Property Law Journal.

    Stephen has practiced employee benefits law for a multinational law firm for several and chaired the employee benefits practice for a prominent labor-employment firm in New York City. He also has served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey. Today, in addition to serving as General Counsel for IUOE Local 295 and the Funds, Stephen has his own law practice serving other unions and collectively bargaining plans.

    Stephen is a member of the bars in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and the U.S. District Court for the State of New Jersey.

    Stephen also has written extensively on a variety of employee benefit matters including without limitation the impacts of the health care reform law, co-authoring a law review article on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision upholding the individual mandate under this law; and contributing to one of the industry’s leading guides to understanding the various compliance mandates under it.

    Stephen was previously recognized by the New Jersey Bar Association in its New Leaders of the Bar as one of New Jersey’s top 50 lawyers under the age of 40.

  • Michael J. Comerford

    Michael has over 40 years experience practicing law and representing labor unions and benefit plans. In 2003, Mr. Comerford formed his firm, Comerford & Dougherty, LLP, based in Garden City, which provides a broad range of legal services to a diverse group of businesses and individuals in the New York metropolitan area. Among other clients, he is counsel to IUOE Local 295 and its affiliated benefit funds. He is also counsel to the Association of New York Catholic Homes and Catholic Charities in connection with their affordable housing portfolios.

    Mr. Comerford attended Our Lady of Angels grammar school and Brooklyn Prep, Class of 1972. He went on to attend Cornell University and Georgetown University Law Center and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1980.

    In addition to his busy legal practice, Mr. Comerford serves as a Trustee on several prominent charitable trusts, not-for-profit organizations and academic institutions including the Heisman Trust and Catholic Charities.

    Mike is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Surrogate's Court Estate and Trust Committee, American Bar Association and National Association of Elder Law Attorneys.

    Matthew Chasin is a Senior Vice President for the Chasin Group. Matt has almost 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He started his career in 1992 as a financial analyst at Chemical Bank in New York. Two years later Matt joined Bear Stearns, where he rose to be a senior managing director on the credit financing trading desk. He was responsible for all mortgage and credit repo trading and secured lending globally. In 2009, Matt joined the Royal Bank of Scotland as the global head of collateral trading. His role consisted of managing global repo and short-duration cash trading in London, Singapore, Tokyo, and Stamford. In 2015, Matt made his way to the Royal Bank of Canada as a managing director in their fixed-income and currencies division. Subsequently, Matt served as the Treasurer of Exos Securities, where he was responsible for all treasury activities.

    Matt’s last role before joining Morgan Stanley was serving as a Senior Institutional Consultant at UBS Financial Services where he teamed up with his father, Gerald, managing and advising Taft-Harley client assets. Now at Morgan Stanley, Matt and the Chasin Group work with ultra-high net-worth clients and institutions within Graystone Consulting providing comprehensive wealth solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs.

    Matt earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester and an MBA at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
